Community District Nurses
Referrals to the District Nurses are made by the GP or the Hospital.
As well as direct nursing care the District Nurses will advise and assist carers looking after ill relatives or friends. They will also refer to other agencies of care such as; The MacMillan Nursing services, Social services, Night Shared Care, Help the Aged, Home equipment loan point and the occupational therapist.
Midwife
A designated midwife will be available for all antenatal care and also the postnatal care for up to 2 weeks after delivery.
There are weekly surgeries alternatively at both Lenham and Harrietsham.
The Midwife Liaison Office contact is 01892 638158
A 24 hour emergency line to a midwife is also available through the Maidstone Hospital. Phone (01622) 729000 and ask to speak to the staff on Antenatal Ward.
Antenatal classes are available day or evening at the hospital via a booking system arranged via Julia. We like to offer an extensive Obstetric programme including home birth option and early discharge from hospital.
